Dividing Water Walls

Dividing water walls fall into two basic categories; walls that are floor standing, and, walls that are supported at the top.

Floor Standing:

Floor standing water walls are usually easier to install as they stand on, and are fastened to, a solid concrete floor.

Their main disadvantage is that they require a larger footprint, and are consequently deeper, for stability.  Water wall is 10 foot high by 14 foot wide by 2 foot deep.

Supported:

Here the water wall is supported at the top in the ceiling framing.  This allows us to make a narrower water wall which some people find more aesthetically pleasing.  If support above the water wall is not available, it is possible to core drill the concrete floor and support the water wall that way – water proofing membranes notwithstanding.

This water wall was also left unfinished (shown left) allowing the customer to add their own backing board and tile (shown right) to match existing décor.

Water wall is 10 foot high by 14 foot wide by 8 inches deep.
